Visit the 2026 Opportunity Quilt web page to learn all about this year’s quilt.
Postcards for members to distribute to the community with information about the quilt will soon be ready for pick up at The Farmhouse -- we will send an announcement when they are available. Tickets will also be sold at the quilt show on April 18 and 19, 2026. The drawing will be at the annual quilt show on April 19, 2026 at 3:30 pm.
The guild counts upon ALL its members to do their part by selling a minimum of $20 of tickets to family, friends, and co-workers, or by buying the tickets for themselves.
2026 Opportunity Quilt ticket packets for members are now at the Farmhouse! Each packet contains:
• 24 tickets, which sell for $1 each, 6 for $5, or 12 for $10, all 24 for $20,
• An addressed return envelope (for your check and tickets)
Please pick up your envelope and return your tickets and money as soon as you are able! Tickets and money can be put into the manila envelope in the Member box at the Farmhouse, returned at an in-person guild meeting, mailed to Reba, or turned in at the quilt show on April 18 or 19, 2026. Additional tickets can be requested from the Opportunity Quilt page on the website.
Our Opportunity Quilt is one of our big fundraisers of the year. The money raised is used to bring wonderful speakers to the guild, as well as making it possible to have our lovely guild room at the Farmhouse. We are quite unique among guilds that we have this amazing space to gather for small groups and classes and workshops, to create quilts, exchange ideas, house our library and tools, and enjoy each other’s company. It also supports our community work as we make items for many local charities.
Thank you for your efforts to promote our quilt show and the guild and its programs. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Estrella Shoka has made the slides from her presentation "Exploring Arpilleras in Chile" at the July 22, 2025 general meeting available from the link below. Included are several pictures she did not have time to discuss during the presentation.
Please note, you must be logged into your GQCCC account to download the file.
GQCCC General Meeting - 7.22.2025 - Exploring Arpilleras in Chile
The logo incorporates the weathervane block that has been GQCCC's icon ever since its founding. Blue skies and golden hills at the base of Mt Diablo in the center square represent the geography of our region. The odd-colored arrow in the southeast corner is also a signature feature, and longtime member Fran McNamee says she was told by old-timers that this is often done by guilds to make their block unique and exclusive to their guild.
To see a gallery of past logos and read more about GQCCC's history, please visit the History page.
The Santa Clara Valley Quilt Association is inviting members of our guild to attend their annual bag sale on Monday, July 28, from 10:30 till 12:00 at the Campbell Community Center, 1 West Campbell Ave, Campbell. We’ll be in the Roosevelt Redwood Room, #Q80.
For $20, you can buy as much quilting cotton and other quilting items as can fit in a grocery bag, which we’ll provide. We expect to have on the order of 100 boxes of fabric, kits, patterns, books, and more.
Rebecca "Becky" Kutcher Styles
August 20, 1941 - May 10, 2025
Becky was a beloved and respected member of GQCCC. She served as president from 2017 to 2019, and was the newsletter editor for over 20 years.
Visit Becky's' memorial page to share a memory or send condolences to the family and read her obituary. Pictures from the June 14, 2025 memorial, attended by many GQCCC members, are included below.
In 2018, Grace Gonsalves, a youth member and daughter of member Jill Orr, wrote a lovely profile of Becky that described her quilting journey and and shared anecdotes from her life that captured her charm and sense of humor.
If you have a photo or memory you would like shared in this space, please send a message through the Contact Us form, directed to the guild webmaster.

Hello GQCCC Members! Our quilting community is at risk of losing the California Stare Fair as an important venue to show off the art of quilting and other crafts. They have said if entry numbers don’t improve, they will be canceling the crafts exhibits permanently. If you value keeping our art form alive, you can help keep this important venue open by entering a quilt or crafted item.
Our member, Kris Cisse has offered to deliver your quilt to the fair and pick it up when the fair is over. All you need to do is enter your items online before 11:59 on May 15, 2025, and coordinate delivery details directly with Kris.
The following note from Kris has all the details:
